Outdoor education is enacted by teachers. Our vision is to bring together the teachers who work with children outdoors so we can learn from each other, and jointly develop our techniques and pedagogical understandings for working with children in nature.
We embrace the pioneers who have developed expertise through practice, and those taking their first tentative steps outside the comfort of the building. We are a network for sharing our knowledge and our passion.
The ECOLN runs gatherings onsite where outdoor programs are held, and has a website and social media presence for sharing information between teachers and services.
This is our first Conference, bringing teachers together in one place for conversation between practitioners and dialogue with the theoretical dimension of our work. Just like our day-to-day work with children, the Conference will range across the apparently mundane but crucial practical details and the philosophical explorations that motivate our work.
